Introduction to the ZBT National Housing
Issue: Fall 2018
ZBT National Housing is the housing arm of ZBT. ZBT National Housing furthers ZBT’s mission by identifying, cultivating and supporting housing that supplements a comprehensive fraternity experience. ZBT National Housing seeks to provide chapters with the necessary resources to sustain and acquire, where appropriate, chapter housing solutions.
In March of 2018, ZBT National Housing found new leadership in a familiar ZBT face. Matthew I. Tobe, Beta Alpha Theta (Colorado) 2006 returned to ZBT’s staff in the role of Executive Director of ZBT National Housing with the goal of growing the housing arm of the Fraternity to support and assist more chapters in getting housed. Matt was part of the ZBT staff from 2006 to 2012 in roles ranging from Consultant to Assistant Executive Director of the Fraternity and he has served on the Supreme Council for 4 years. He is also a volunteer with the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis and has experience in managing residential properties.
Assisting ZBT National Housing is a second staff member, Jessica Ricks.
Over the past few years, ZBT National Housing has been growing its board, number of volunteers and resources to help more chapters. The current Board of Directors is comprised of 13 ZBT alumni, led by President Gregg F. Witt, Iota (University of Denver) 1977. The board currently has two vacancies, allowing for a maximum of 15 board members.
Services ZBT National Housing can offer include loan guarantees, providing loans within our loan criteria, assisting chapters in finding creative housing solutions and helping to run chapter house operations if no local housing board is active. Additionally, our partnerships with national vendors such as food service companies, management companies and furniture companies allow us to assist chapters in streamlining operations.
As ZBT National Housing continues to grow, we look forward to providing more services. Our website is under construction now and will soon be home to many resources for housed chapters as well as chapters working towards securing housing.
In the coming months, we will be introducing you to the chapters and campuses that partner with ZBT National Housing for housing.
ZBT National Housing’s office is located at ZBT Headquarters. If you’d like to get in touch with staff, we can be reached at:
