Zeta Beta Tau brothers and guests had an incredible time of brotherhood bonding and learning at 2022 International Convention. Thank you to the dynamic city of Las Vegas for hosting and the many brothers who attended and supported ZBT’s International Convention.

Hundreds of undergraduates, alumni and guests took advantage of the finest opportunity in ZBT to learn new ideas from experts in various fields and grow together as a family. International Convention is a three-day event that includes educational programming, social time, hands-on workshops and seminars for both undergraduate and alumni brothers. The educational programming of the 2022 International Convention for undergraduates was funded in part by a generous grant from the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation. Brothers had the opportunity to connect for the first time or reconnect. Programming for undergraduates focused on officer and leadership development and accountability and integrity among all ZBTs.

• “Not only did I learn a great deal more about the Fraternity that I’m in, I had an amazing experience and I wish it had lasted longer,” said one Alpha Omega Chapter brother from University of Miami.
• “It was very informative and motivating to do better. (One risk management presentation) was a wake-up call for me to do a better job mitigating risk” as a Chapter leader, said a brother from Iota Chapter at University of Denver.
• “We spent time focusing a lot on heritage, which is really something my Chapter needs. I now know of many resources that can help the Chapter, and I learned a good bit about our heritage,” a Delta Lambda Chapter delegate from Monmouth College said.

ZBT was honored to kick off the event with a welcome from Mayor Carolyn Goodman, Mayor of the City of Las Vegas.

Keynote sessions featured mental health and wellness advocate Thea Zunick, Ed.D., fraternal risk prevention and insurance provider Marc Mores and student personal development coach LaShatá Grayson. Grayson’s session was the annual Zeta Beta Tau Foundation Sponsored Program, made possible by a gift from Harold and Nadine Davidson. Harold A. Davidson, Ph.D., is 1965 alumnus of Alpha Delta Chapter at the University of Southern California, and Past International President of ZBT. Brother and Mrs. Davidson were in attendance and participated in the session.

The annual Ronald M. Mankoff Alumni Panel, a leadership program set in a talk show-style format engaged both ZBT undergraduates and alumni through the panelists’ career and life stories and advice. Attendees interact with the panelists through a question and answer dialogue. Speakers in this popular panel for 2022 were:

Zeta Beta Tau’s heritage and connection to the Jewish community was facilitated through a well-regarded panel discussion with representatives from Israel on Campus Coalition, Jewish Nevada, Shalom Hartman Institute and a student leader from the Gamma Mu Chapter at the University of Memphis.

Top Honors

The 2022 Brummer Cup for Best Chapter was awarded to Beta Phi Chapter at University of Pittsburgh. The Chapter shattered expectations in the 2021-2022 school year, doubling in size and growing its operations and Chapter calendar accordingly. Brothers work hard in the name of ZBT and have an incredible commitment to national partners as well as local campus partners. They earned several of ZBT’s top awards this year.

Zeta Beta Tau Man of Distinction for 2022 is Robert M. Rosenberg, Kappa (Cornell University) 1959, former Chief Executive Officer of Dunkin Donuts.

Brother Rosenberg led Dunkin’ Donuts (now Dunkin’) for 35 years. He joined his family’s company, which consisted of several small businesses, in 1963. He stepped into the role of CEO and President at the age of 25 and focused solely on the Dunkin’ Donuts brand. By the time Rosenberg retired in 1998, he had grown the company from 100 locations in the United States to about 6,500 locations around the world, taking sales from $10 million to $2.6 billion.

The Man of Distinction Award was created to honor those brothers who reach the apex of their various involvements. Through their life’s work, these men exemplify the brotherhood of Zeta Beta Tau. This award is to be presented occasionally, but no more than once per year. Brother Rosenberg’s honor was celebrated at 2022 International Convention in Las Vegas.

2023 in NYC

Next up: We have exciting activities in the works as part of 2023 International Convention for ZBT’s 125th anniversary celebration. Save the date for Aug. 10 to 12 in New York City.

This event will be in the heart of our Fraternity’s birthplace, returning to New York City. 2023 will be the first time International Convention has returned to New York since the 1981 International Convention and since our International Headquarters relocated from the Big Apple to Indianapolis.

The event will be centrally located at a historic location in Manhattan, the Hyatt at Grand Central Station. New York City is the site of many historic, momentous ZBT events and International Conventions. We are excited to see brothers, friends and guests next year!
