ZBT honors Louis Kemp for distinguished service

Louis E. Kemp, Alpha Iota of Phi Epsilon Pi (University of Miami) 1967, a respected national leader for several Jewish organizations, was named the Heritage Award recipient for 2022.
He is a respected and devout member of the Jewish community. He is the “father” of Aish Ha Torah’s Discovery Program, which empowers students to explore Judaism and master independent learning of Torah texts. The program has been attended by more than 500,000 people worldwide. He’s also the founder of Chabad of Pacific Palisades in California. Kemp recently authored a book called Dylan & Me: 50 Years of Adventures about his friendship with famous musician Bob Dylan.

Last year, Brother Kemp shared his stories on an episode of ZBTalk, a podcast series produced by the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation that highlights some of the many amazing stories about the brothers of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity.
The Heritage Award was created in 2005 to be presented to a member of the Jewish community who distinguishes himself or herself in a communal, philanthropic, artistic or professional endeavor. Brother Kemp’s honor was celebrated at 2022 International Convention in Las Vegas.
