Zeta Beta Tau Foundation: Where We’ve Been & Where We’re Headed
By Lesley Miller — Issue: Spring 2020
Since the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation’s founding in 1952, providing scholarships to our undergraduate brothers has been the heart of our mission.
The Foundation has as its goal that no Zeta Beta Tau undergraduate shall have to discontinue his college education as a result of financial hardship. In the more than sixty years since its beginning, the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation scholarship program has grown from a single $250 scholarship to awards amounting to more than $1,600,000 to brothers of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity.
The Zeta Beta Tau Foundation now exists to provide so much more than scholarships. Since 2016, the Foundation has funded the following in addition to scholarships:
- $110,000 in leadership development programs, like the Regional Officers Institutes and the James E. Greer, Jr. Presidents Leadership Academy
- $72,000 to combat campus anti-Semitism
- $30,000 in chapter heritage grants
In the ever-changing landscape of higher education, awarding financial support and providing personal development opportunities and high-quality trainings is critical for our brothers.
As we look ahead at the next year, five years, and beyond, the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation will ensure all current and future generations of brothers have access to programs, connect generations of alumni to benefits that promote brotherhood for a lifetime and support new programs on campus.
Thank you to all of the generous donors who have helped us reach this point. We look to reaching even higher ground in the coming years!
