In December 2018, the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation was honored to be named a beneficiary of the Franklin O.L. Steinberg 2017 Revocable Trust and has received over $6,100,000. This transformational gift was made possible by Franklin O. L. Steinberg, Gamma Delta (Long Island University – C.W. Post) 1969, and Stephen N. Steinberg, Gamma Delta (Long Island University – C.W. Post) 1964. They entered the Chapter Eternal in 2018 and 2017, respectively.

In honor of Franklin and Stephen, the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation Board of Directors has renamed the Foundation’s planned giving society, formally known as the City of Light Trust, to the Franklin O.L. and Stephen N. Steinberg City of Light Trust [Steinberg City of Light Trust]. The trust recognizes and honors those who have made deferred gifts, whether revocable or irrevocable, to the Foundation, including, but not limited to, trusts, bequests, gifts of life insurance, and annuities. Membership is open to all ZBT alumni, parents, staff and friends.

The gift from the Steinbergs will help further carry out the charitable and educational purposes of the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation, which assists the collegiate and alumni brothers of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity by funding scholarships and academic and leadership programs to maximize their personal development and prepare them to be leaders of society.
