By Lesley Miller — Issue: Winter 2020
In August, Faron A. Lewitt, Psi (University of Alabama) 1997, Chief Executive Officer for the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation, received the William D. Jenkins
Outstanding Foundation Professional Award from the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence (FFE).
The award is one of the highest honors for someone to receive in the fraternity or sorority foundation profession. Faron has dedicated his career to improving the Zeta Beta Tau experience. He is an exemplary industry leader who proves that fraternal fundraisers have an incredible capacity to lead through actions that are impactful.
Faron has been widely involved across the industry and as an FFE member for more than 20 years. He has shepherded incredible growth for the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation, particularly in recent years. In the past five years, he — with the help of generous donors, volunteers and staff —
- Raised the Foundation’s net assets from $3.9 million to $12.2 million
- Offered 35% more student scholarships in 2019 compared to 2018
- Granted more than $323,000 to heritage programs and events
As a leader, he demonstrates what it means to represent the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation & Fraternity, clearly understands the mission, and reflects the values of the organization.
Congratulations, Faron!
